The container will be designed and constructed for the transportation of general cargo onsea (above or under deck) and on land (road or rail) throughout the world, and will besuitable for the environmental conditions imposed by those modes of transport. Allmaterials used in the construction will be able to withstand extreme temperature rangingfrom -30°C to 80°C without effect on container’s strength and water tightness.

Corner fittings will be designed in accordance with ISO/1161 standard, and manufactureThe container will be constructed with steel frames, fully vertically corrugated steel side and end walls, die-stamped corrugated steel roof, 4MM flat steel floor, corrugated double hinged doors and ISO corner fittings at eight corners. All steelworks will be built up by means of automatic and semi-automatic CO2 gas shielded arc welding (Metal Active Gas).All exterior welding including that on base structure will be continuous to give perfect water tightness. All the welds, even spots, will have good penetration without undercutting or porosity.

Please note our review is based on the following conditions:
1) The works and production testing are to be completed to the satisfaction of the attending ABS Surveyor.
2) With regards to the corner castings to be used, the valid certificates are to be made available to the attending Surveyor.
3) Prototype testing in accordance with the attached test agenda is to be conducted on one
representative unit in the present of a Surveyor.
4) Basis of Approval – the following approval reference will be assigned:CSC approval number: USA/AB-389/23
5) Container Characteristics:
Production certificate to be issued is to include the comment “The prototype unit of this
design type was designed and tested based upon the intended service conditions with 0.4P Side wall strength.
