Hot-dip galvanizing is a process in which pre-treated steel or cast iron parts are immersed in a molten zinc bath to form zinc and/or zinc-iron alloy coatings on their surface. Through this process, the molten zinc will be evenly covered on the surface of the steel workpiece, forming a continuous and dense galvanized layer, and there is a metallurgical bond between the zinc layer and the substrate, and the binding force is strong.
Excellent corrosion resistance: The hot-dip galvanized layer can provide long-term and effective anti-corrosion protection for the container, making it not easy to rust and corrode in harsh environments such as high salt, humidity and windiness at sea, and prolong the service life of the container. The zinc layer can form a dense zinc oxide film in seawater, marine atmosphere and other environments, preventing oxygen and moisture from contacting the steel matrix, and playing a role in isolation and protection. At the same time, the electrode potential of zinc is lower than that of iron, and when the zinc layer forms a galvanic cell with the steel matrix, zinc is preferentially corroded as an anode, thus protecting the steel matrix from corrosion, which is electrochemical protection.
High strength and durability: The hardness of the galvanized layer is high, and it has good toughness and wear resistance. The entire steel surface including the depressions, the inside of the pipe fittings and other corners can be evenly covered with the zinc layer, and the zinc layer is often thicker in the corner area, which makes the container structure strong and can withstand various external impacts in the process of marine transportation, such as wave impact, hoisting collision, etc., and is not easy to deform and damage.
Good appearance and decoration: the surface of the hot-dip galvanized container presents a uniform silver-gray luster, the appearance is neat and beautiful, and there is no need for additional surface decoration treatment, which not only meets the functional needs, but also has a certain visual beauty.
Maintenance-free: Due to the good corrosion resistance and stability of the hot-dip galvanized layer, under normal use, the hot-dip galvanized offshore container needs little maintenance during use, or does not need maintenance for a long time, reducing the cost of use and the amount of maintenance work.
Strong dimensional adaptability: The hot-dip galvanizing process has strong adaptability to the shape and size of steel parts, and can manufacture marine containers of different specifications and sizes according to actual needs to meet the requirements of various cargo transportation and storage.
Maritime cargo transportation: It is used to load all kinds of general goods, such as equipment, spare parts, daily necessities, etc., and can also be used to transport dangerous goods, such as chemicals, flammable and explosive goods, etc., and its good sealing and safety can ensure the safety of goods during transportation.
Offshore oil and gas extraction: as a tool storage and transportation container, storing and transporting various tools and equipment required for offshore drilling and construction; It can also be used as a slurry collection and transportation container to collect and transport mud and waste generated during offshore oil extraction.
Marine engineering construction: In marine engineering such as offshore platform construction and submarine pipeline laying, it is used to store and transport building materials and construction equipment, etc., to facilitate engineering construction. Painting or H.D.G as protective manner.
