A foldable shelter is a compact, portable, and quickly deployable temporary shelter structure, widely used in outdoor adventures, emergency rescue, camping, event hosting, and other scenarios. Its core advantages lie in the saving of storage space and the ability to be rapidly deployed, while providing basic protection against wind, rain, sun, or privacy.
When folded, it is small in size and can usually be packed into a backpack, handbag, or cylindrical package, weighing from a few kilograms to several dozen kilograms, suitable for manual carrying or vehicle loading. Some ultra-light models (such as those for hiking and camping) weigh only 1-3 kilograms, making them ideal for long-distance carrying.
No complex tools are required. Most are unfolded through folding frames, elastic rods, or snap-fit structures, and a single person can complete the setup within 5 to 15 minutes.
Advanced models feature a “one-click” design, similar to an umbrella, significantly reducing preparation time.
Basic functions: Shelter from wind and rain, isolation from the external environment (such as mosquitoes and low temperatures).
Extended functions: Some models can be equipped with ground stakes and wind ropes to enhance stability, or additional side curtains and skylights to improve practicality.
Fabric: Mostly uses waterproof nylon, Oxford cloth (wear-resistant) or breathable mesh fabric (for summer use), and some high-end models use tear-resistant Cordura material.
Frame: Aluminum alloy (lightweight and rust-resistant), fiberglass rods (good elasticity) or high-strength steel (for heavy-duty shelters).
